Belote app for iPhone and iPad
« Belote » allows you to play this well known French card game alone with a partner and against two opponents, all three of them simulated by the iPhone.
Top quality graphisms and realistic animations/sound effects
3 game modes are proposed:
- Simple Belote without announcements
- Simple Belote with announcements
- Belote « Coinchée » (=blocked)
The optimized display uses the complete screen surface of the iPhone, offering very legible cards and their easy selection.
The game is automatically saved in case of interruption (phone call, application exit by the player). At the next launch of the application, the application will propose to restart the game where it was stopped.
The game speed and the point count in real time during the round can also be adjusted.
Cards can be manually shuffled like in real card games, by simply holding the iPhone/iPod on the edge during distribution!
Last trick can also be displayed again.
Players can be personalized.
Game is currently in French, to be translated in the nearby future.

Very happy with their belotte, works perfectly, faultless. Nice design, very good AI, only tiny drawback is the announces of the cards in English, since everything is in French, would have been nice to have the cards suits name in French as well. Or create a full English and a full french version. Besides that tiny little detail, a fantastic apps. I am also playing their Jass version and it is as good as this one, so it seems a company to trust, will check their other games. They have not done a rummy one, so if you read this please consider creating a rummy game, I will buy it as the other rummy apps seem crap. Great work, pls continue!!
Terriffic app! My one complaint is that sometimes my partner will play like a potato. (He will not bid with a 4-card run. He will play a trump when it wong beat an opponents currently cutting trump. He will bid with no hand at all... Etc.). Other than this small strategic inconvenience, this is by far the best app Ive ever purchased and have recommended it to everyone that I know that plays Belote. (A fully English and Fully French version would be nice!)
Good app, computer plays ok, nice graphics. Good value for a rather rare app (hard to find Belote lovers in the world). 1 bug fix and a few improvements required:
• Bug: the orange highlight on the player whose turn it is to play remains after the turn ends, even while dealing the next round. Its a bug (and its confusing)
• Improvements:
1) highlight or mark somehow the player whose turn it is to deal
2) keep users scores over time (right now there is no scoreboard for past games, its annoying). Also be great to have a roster of players to choose from to play with or against
3) Ability to "take back" when played in error (ex: once I clicked on Clubs instead of "deux" and had to play with 1 "atout" card only - of course, I got "dedans")
4) sometimes the game plays too fast and you cant see what just happened (ex: end of a game, it goes to scoreboard without leaving time to see what happened at last hand)
5) of course, the micmac of French/English should be fixed (maybe add dual language support, but when in one, stick to it)
6) "you lose" is 1 "o" only (loose with 2 "os" means the opposite of tight ("lâche" au sens relâché, pas serré) - common French mistake in English
7) Longer term / harder improvement : multi-player support, 2 people playing together against the other 2 computer players, or against each other with the computer as virtual partners. Ideally this mode could offer the choice to play from the same iPhone or 2 devices (via Bluetooth or Internet).

Like it a lot. Sometime my partner doesnt play well but I enjoy this app !
1. Add where aces and 10s are the highest
2. Make so 3 in a rown and etc is said first hand then showed second but must bedone manually
3. Partner plays bad because he doesnt raise when he has Jack or 9 of
my shape

Some bad moments
This COULD be a good game, but it doesnt play as well as it should. It ignores the basic rules of Belote, such as leading trump (when the computer makes it) and it even doesnt play the best trump to draw the others out. In addition, when you make trump, your partner never (or VERY rarely) leads trump to draw the others out! As a result, games are often too easy and not very interesting. Its like always playing with a bad partner! Too bad there is no English version, either.
After a long delay in responding to the update to os8 which rendered the game unplayable since the bids were not visible, this update simply shrinks all the text to the point where the text is unreadable to anyone without 20/20 vision.
Additionally some text is blue against a black background, this is unreadable as well. Most annoying is a star indicator that appears and disappears, making the player with the successful bid hard to determine, and the flash effect is distracting as well. This was one of my favourite renditions of the game. While the game engine is still solid, the execution of the graphics and layout would receive a failing grade in a Grade 10 programming class. Please clean up this mess and restore the game to the quality that it deserves.
This looks like a great game until you pay attention to how a.i. Is acting. Very basic Almost random play. Just goes from low to high card on every hand. Very disappointed. Would not pay again or play for free.
